Oh no, these are not baked by me. Wish I have the patience and courage to bake something like this one day.
Cousin M got it from a friend’s friend in Malaysia. We have never seen any more intricately layered cake than this. What a beautiful fusion of colors and shapes. It is almost kaleidoscopic! No wonder some call it “Asian Queen of Cakes”.
I just can't get over the beautiful motifs sandwiched between each paper thin layers of batter. It takes a lot of dedication, tenacity and creativity to bake a cake like this. What a shame to cut it apart.
